Schäfer required a control system for their crimp presses. The previous thyristor control was not flexible enough for their highly individual projects. Moreover, the evaluation and control of the additional sensor and actuators always required an independent programmable control.
Engberts developed a frequency converter and the associated operator controls. The press control comes with different input and outputs as well as a CAN bus which facilitates controlling the various special machinery by Schäfer. Comprehensive software libraries were created for all functions; these were made available to Schäfer so that they were able to handle the individual programming of the machine themselves.
The BB07i crimp monitor was specifically adapted to this control and the entire operation of the BB07i was integrated into the control.
