The attenuation of polymer optical fibers (POF) can be measured with the attenuation measuring device (DMG) during production with an assembly machine as well as during random sampling on a laboratory bench. Various clamping fixtures are available for that purpose – from jaw chucks to an XYZ translation stage.
For example, the DMG is used for 100% series production inspections of MOST cable in the automotive industry. The DMG can be integrated in existing production lines via the CAN and RS232 interface.
Supplemental software is also available to facilitate the statistical analysis of production data.
